It was advertised as a VST usable in Sonar. I cannot even load the Kontact player without totally crashing X3. That's a shame because I like Acoustic Legends. I am in Poly Mode.I find this product quite unusable and the support very bad. I often cannot get the product to play two notes at the same time, even though they can easily be played at the same time on an actual guitar.

  • The scripting is trying to be too smart about choosing which strings to play.
  • Some notes are extremely quiet while others are loud.
  • I love the sound but can't get the product to do anything usable.
  • Here are the Electri6ity issues I am trying to resolve: It took me a long time to complete the form, and then, when I tried to Submit it, I got a message that I can only send the form once. Hard to fill out a form and register an issue when the fields all appear blank. The Contact Form is set up so you cannot see what you are typing. Vir2 is not responding to support tickets. With a few more hours you can fill it with subtleties.Konradh 1. Mutes that rise up seamlessly into legato chunky chords, slides between chords, shifting between lead lines and chords.Ĭombining Steven Slate drums, Trillian and this is just hilarious - in a couple of hours you have what sounds like this amazing studio recording of a live band. Gosh you can just play in a part roughly, then in the sequencer add all the subtleties you would otherwise have had to spend hours learning on a real guitar.

The sound is fantastic, it's energetic and lively (going through Amplitube 2), sounds completely real (better than real in the sense that it sounds like a far better guitarist than I am on a real guitar, being a keyboardist), and. And, it's not complex at all, it's just very very flexible.

So then I suddenly found myself with 8 hours to write and record a rock track from scratch for a sports TV thing, with no guitar to hand. I bought this a while ago and it took me ages to get around to using it because it looked so complex, and I thought - why bother when I can play the guitar anyway, and: I know guitarists who I can hire, etc. My time frame for a physical model of a guitar/bass from Mokafix Audio is about this time next year.I could be wrong, but exactly a year ago I was thinking to myself that this would be a 2-year-story, so perhaps my prediction shall come true, in that case it's only another year off, no really bad shit happening notwithstanding.

I think the only way to do vibrato properly is with physical modeling and that is something that Mokafix Audio is working towards. Sure, the vibrato could be done a bit better and maybe VIR2 will work towards better vibrato. They tried, that's the best thing anyone could do - try. But anyway, something can be said of the herculean effort that went into this virtual instrument that many would consider phenomenal. Or at least, a hell of a stepping stone to whatever the winner may be.Unfortunately such is the limitation of sampling. Get this fixed, and this company's got a winner.

Destroys suspension of disbelief merely by invoking its necessity. Hearing a mellow blues on a hollow-body Gibson suddenly take on shades of wanksmanship, due to vibrato alone, is like watching a video of Gandhi, and seeing the face of Idi Amin swirl into focus momentarily whenever he says the word "is". The biggest flaw is that all vibrato, irrespective of guitar make, seems to invoke an Yngwie subroutine. Or at least, a hell of a stepping stone to whatever the winner may be. Regardless of your ethical stance on such a process, you have to admit they've done a pretty damn good job. It is about removing middlemen and streamlining the process of commercial composition. This isn't targeted at engineers, bands, or the interface between them. But, fish and chips are tempting.Īnyway, just try to think of this plugin from the POV of its intended market audience. Not very good gambling odds when your meal ticket depends on your general ability to adapt to external demands. and for the admission fee, you could buy a cheap guitar, amp and have enough left over for fish and chips on the way home. With a great stroke of luck, the general crappiness of such a combo would be outshone by its eccentricity, making it "the perfect choice" for 1 out of 100 cues.
